8 | 8 | | relating to Medicaid coverage and reimbursement for multisystemic |

10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 32.024, Human Resources Code, is amended |
---|
12 | 12 | | by adding Subsection (oo-1) to read as follows: |
---|
13 | 13 | | (oo-1) The commission shall ensure that medical assistance |
---|
14 | 14 | | reimbursement is provided to a health care provider who provides |
---|
15 | 15 | | services classified as multisystemic therapy by the Healthcare |
---|
16 | 16 | | Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) code to a recipient under |
---|
17 | 17 | | the medical assistance program. The executive commissioner shall |
---|
18 | 18 | | establish a separate provider type for multisystemic therapy |
---|
19 | 19 | | providers for purposes of enrollment as a provider for and |
---|
20 | 20 | | reimbursement under the medical assistance program. |
---|
21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act |
---|
22 | 22 | | a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a |
---|
23 | 23 | | federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision, |
---|
24 | 24 | | the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or |
---|
25 | 25 | | authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the |
---|
26 | 26 | | waiver or authorization is granted. |
---|
27 | 27 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
