88 relating to Medicaid coverage and reimbursement for multisystemic
99 therapy services.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 32.024, Human Resources Code, is amended
1212 by adding Subsection (oo-1) to read as follows:
1313 (oo-1) The commission shall ensure that medical assistance
1414 reimbursement is provided to a health care provider who provides
1515 services classified as multisystemic therapy by the Healthcare
1616 Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) code to a recipient under
1717 the medical assistance program. The executive commissioner shall
1818 establish a separate provider type for multisystemic therapy
1919 providers for purposes of enrollment as a provider for and
2020 reimbursement under the medical assistance program.
2121 SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act
2222 a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a
2323 federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision,
2424 the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or
2525 authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the
2626 waiver or authorization is granted.
2727 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
