| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 1.06, Tax Code, is amended to read as |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 1.06. EFFECT OF WEEKEND, [OR] HOLIDAY, OR OFFICE |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | CLOSURE. An act is timely if: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (1) [If] the last day for the performance of the [an] |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | act is: |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (A) a Saturday, Sunday, or legal state or |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | national holiday; or |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (B) in the case of a payment of taxes imposed by a |

| 20 | 20 | | taxing unit, a day on which the office of the collector for the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | taxing unit is closed; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (2) [,] the act is [timely if] performed on the next |
