A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to meetings of a county election board.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 51.002, Election Code, is amended by
adding Subsections (d) and (e) to read as follows:
(d) A meeting of the county election board shall be:
(1) held in person or virtually through the Internet;
and
(2) open to the public.
(e) Not later than 48 hours before each meeting of the
county election board, the county clerk shall post notice of the
meeting on the county's Internet website, if the county maintains a
website.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
