| 6 | 6 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 7 | 7 | | SECTION 1. Section 51.002, Election Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | adding Subsections (d) and (e) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | (d) A meeting of the county election board shall be: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | (1) held in person; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | (2) open to the public. |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (e) Not later than 48 hours before each meeting of the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | county election board, the county clerk shall post notice of the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | meeting on the county's Internet website, if the county maintains a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | website. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
