| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 503.062, Transportation Code, is amended |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | by adding Subsection (d-1) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (d-1) A temporary tag issued under this section must include |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the statement "WARNING: UNAUTHORIZED REPRODUCTION, PURCHASE, USE, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | OR SALE OF A TEMPORARY TAG IS AN OFFENSE." |

| 15 | 15 | | SECTION 2. Section 503.0625, Transportation Code, is |

| 16 | 16 | | amended by adding Subsection (e-1) to read as follows: |

| 17 | 17 | | (e-1) A temporary tag issued under this section must include |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the statement "WARNING: UNAUTHORIZED REPRODUCTION, PURCHASE, USE, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | OR SALE OF A TEMPORARY TAG IS AN OFFENSE." |

| 20 | 20 | | SECTION 3. Section 503.063, Transportation Code, is amended |

| 21 | 21 | | by adding Subsection (e-1) to read as follows: |

| 22 | 22 | | (e-1) A temporary tag issued under this section must |

| 23 | 23 | | include the statement "WARNING: UNAUTHORIZED REPRODUCTION, |

| 24 | 24 | | PURCHASE, USE, OR SALE OF A TEMPORARY TAG IS AN OFFENSE." |

| 25 | 25 | | SECTION 4. Sections 503.062(d-1), 503.0625(e-1), and |

| 26 | 26 | | 503.063(e-1), Transportation Code, as added by this Act, apply only |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | to a temporary tag issued on or after the effective date of this |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Act. |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | SECTION 5. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
