| 7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, |

| 9 | 9 | | is amended by adding Section 504.417 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Sec. 504.417. ANTARCTICA SERVICE MEDAL RECIPIENTS. The |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the Antarctica Service Medal. License plates issued under this |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | section must include the Antarctica Service Medal emblem and the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | words "Antarctica Service Medal" at the bottom of each plate. |

| 15 | 15 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
