| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 253, Election Code, is |

| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 253.008 to read as follows: |

| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 253.008. PROHIBITION ON RECEIPT OF BOND PROCEEDS BY |

| 13 | 13 | | PERSONS WHO CONTRIBUTE TO CERTAIN POLITICAL COMMITTEES. |

| 14 | 14 | | Notwithstanding any law, a person who makes a contribution to a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | political committee that supports the issuance of a bond may not |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | receive money, including payment under a contract for goods or |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | services, from any proceeds in connection with the bond. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | SECTION 2. Section 253.008, Election Code, as added by this |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Act, applies only to a contribution to a political committee that is |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | made on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
