77 AN ACT
88 relating to weight limitations for liquefied petroleum gas motor
99 vehicles.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 621.101(b-1), Transportation Code, is
1212 amended to read as follows:
1313 (b-1) Notwithstanding any other provision of this section,
1414 a vehicle or combination of vehicles that is powered by an engine
1515 fueled primarily or secondarily by natural gas or liquefied
1616 petroleum gas may exceed any weight limitation under this section
1717 by an amount that is equal to the difference between the weight of
1818 the vehicle attributable to the natural gas or liquefied petroleum
1919 gas tank and fueling system carried by that vehicle and the weight
2020 of a comparable diesel tank and fueling system, provided that the
2121 maximum gross weight of the vehicle or combination of vehicles may
2222 not exceed 81,000 [82,000] pounds.
2323 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
