10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 621.101(b-1), Transportation Code, is |
---|
12 | 12 | | amended to read as follows: |
---|
13 | 13 | | (b-1) Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, |
---|
14 | 14 | | a vehicle or combination of vehicles that is powered by an engine |
---|
15 | 15 | | fueled primarily or secondarily by natural gas or liquefied |
---|
16 | 16 | | petroleum gas may exceed any weight limitation under this section |
---|
17 | 17 | | by an amount that is equal to the difference between the weight of |
---|
18 | 18 | | the vehicle attributable to the natural gas or liquefied petroleum |
---|
19 | 19 | | gas tank and fueling system carried by that vehicle and the weight |
---|
20 | 20 | | of a comparable diesel tank and fueling system, provided that the |
---|
21 | 21 | | maximum gross weight of the vehicle or combination of vehicles may |
---|
22 | 22 | | not exceed 81,000 [82,000] pounds. |
---|
23 | 23 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
