| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 658.010, Government Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 658.010. PLACE WHERE WORK PERFORMED. (a) An employee |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | of a state agency shall, during normal office hours, conduct agency |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | business only at the employee's regular or assigned temporary place |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of employment unless the employee: |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (1) is travelling; or |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (2) receives [received prior written] authorization |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | from the administrative head of the employing state agency to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | perform work elsewhere. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (b) The employee's personal residence may not be considered |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the employee's regular or assigned temporary place of employment |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | without [prior written] authorization from the administrative head |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | of the employing state agency. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | SECTION 2. Section 659.018, Government Code, is repealed. |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
