| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 325, Government Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | adding Section 325.0124 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 325.0124. REVIEW OF EFFORTS REGARDING DISPARITIES IN |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | OUTCOMES. As part of the commission's review of the Health and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Human Services Commission and the Texas Education Agency under this |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | chapter, the commission and its staff shall assess the agency's |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | efforts to reduce disparities in outcomes among the populations the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | agency serves in the performance of its functions. The commission |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | staff shall notify the commission of any findings and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | recommendations. |

| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
