| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 2054.353(a), Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (a) The department shall administer a common electronic |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | system using the Internet through which a licensing entity can |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | electronically: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (1) send occupational licenses and other documents to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | persons regulated by the licensing entity and to the public; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (2) receive applications for occupational licenses |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and other documents for filing from persons regulated by the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | licensing entity and from the public, including documents that can |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | be electronically signed if necessary; [and] |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (3) receive required payments from persons regulated |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | by the licensing entity and from the public; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (4) track the status of a license holder or applicant, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | including disciplinary information, in a manner that is not |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | accessible to the public. |

| 27 | 27 | | SECTION 2. Section 2054.353(d), Government Code, is |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | repealed. |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
