9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 325, Government Code, is amended by |
---|
11 | 11 | | adding Section 325.026 to read as follows: |

12 | 12 | | Sec. 325.026. LOCAL WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARDS SUBJECT TO |

13 | 13 | | REVIEW. (a) A local workforce development board listed in |

14 | 14 | | Subsection (b) is subject to a limited review under this chapter as |
---|
15 | 15 | | if it were a state agency but may not be abolished. |

---|
46 | 46 | | local workforce development board's: |
---|
47 | 47 | | (1) governance; |
---|
48 | 48 | | (2) management; |
---|
49 | 49 | | (3) operating structure; and |
---|
50 | 50 | | (4) compliance with the requirements of Subchapter G, |
---|
51 | 51 | | Chapter 2308, or other law. |
---|
52 | 52 | | (d) The commission shall conduct the limited review under |
---|
53 | 53 | | this section as soon as practicable and shall review each local |
---|
54 | 54 | | workforce development board listed in Subsection (b) in an order |
---|
55 | 55 | | determined appropriate by the commission. |
---|
56 | 56 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
57 | 57 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
58 | 58 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
59 | 59 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
60 | 60 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
