| 7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 6.12(b), Tax Code, is amended to read as |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | (b) The agricultural advisory board members must be |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | landowners of the district whose land qualifies for appraisal under |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Subchapter C, D, E, or H, Chapter 23[, and who have been residents |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | of the district for at least five years]. |

| 14 | 14 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
