5	5	relating to the continuation of certain health care provider
6	6	participation programs in this state.
7	7	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
8	8	SECTION 1. Section 292C.004, Health and Safety Code, is
9	9	amended to read as follows:
10	10	Sec. 292C.004. EXPIRATION. The authority of a county to
11	11	administer and operate a program under this chapter expires
12	12	December 31, 2027 [2023].
13	13	SECTION 2. Section 298A.004, Health and Safety Code, is
14	14	amended to read as follows:
15	15	Sec. 298A.004. EXPIRATION. (a) Subject to Section
16	16	298A.153(d), the authority of the district to administer and
17	17	operate a program under this chapter expires December 31, 2027
18	18	[2025].
19	19	(b) This chapter expires December 31, 2027 [2025].
20	20	SECTION 3. Section 298B.004, Health and Safety Code, is
21	21	amended to read as follows:
22	22	Sec. 298B.004. EXPIRATION OF AUTHORITY. (a) Subject to
23	23	Sections 298B.153(d) and 298B.154, the authority of the district to
24	24	administer and operate a program under this chapter expires
25	25	December 31, 2027 [2025].
26	26	(b) Subsection (a) does not affect the authority of the
27	27	district to require and collect a mandatory payment under Section
28	28	298B.154 after December 31, 2027 [2025], if necessary.
29	29	SECTION 4. Section 298E.004, Health and Safety Code, is
30	30	amended to read as follows:
31	31	Sec. 298E.004. EXPIRATION. (a) Subject to Section
32	32	298E.153(d), the authority of a district to administer and operate
33	33	a program under this chapter expires December 31, 2027 [2023].
34	34	(b) This chapter expires December 31, 2027 [2023].
35	35	SECTION 5. Section 298F.004, Health and Safety Code, is
36	36	amended to read as follows:
37	37	Sec. 298F.004. EXPIRATION. (a) Subject to Section
38	38	298F.153(d), the authority of the district to administer and
39	39	operate a program under this chapter expires December 31, 2027
40	40	[2023].
41	41	(b) This chapter expires December 31, 2027 [2023].
42	42	SECTION 6. Section 298G.004, Health and Safety Code, is
43	43	amended to read as follows:
44	44	Sec. 298G.004. EXPIRATION. (a) Subject to Section
45	45	298G.153(d), the authority of the district to administer and
46	46	operate a program under this chapter expires December 31, 2027
47	47	[2023].
48	48	(b) This chapter expires December 31, 2027 [2023].
49	49	SECTION 7. Section 299.004, Health and Safety Code, is
50	50	amended to read as follows:
51	51	Sec. 299.004. EXPIRATION. (a) Subject to Section
52	52	299.153(d), the authority of the district to administer and operate
53	53	a program under this chapter expires December 31, 2025 [2023].
54	54	(b) This chapter expires December 31, 2025 [2023].
55	55	SECTION 8. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
56	56	a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
57	57	provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
58	58	Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
59	59	Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
