The bill would amend the Business and Commerce Code by removing the ability for the Office of the Attorney General to seek injunctive relief and civil penalties for a violation of Section 604A.002, which prohibits the imposition of surcharges for credit card purposes. According to the Office of Court Administration, the Office of the Attorney General, and the Comptroller's Office, no significant fiscal implications are anticipated from the provisions of the bill.  Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
