| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter E-3, Chapter 51, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | amended by adding Section 51.2821 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 51.2821. REQUIRED POSTING OF SIGNS BY PUBLIC |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION. (a) In this section: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (1) "Institution of higher education" has the meaning |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | assigned by Section 61.003. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (2) "QR code" has the meaning assigned by Section |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 443.001, Health and Safety Code. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (b) As part of the comprehensive prevention and outreach |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | program developed by the institution under Section 51.282(d), an |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | institution of higher education shall post in each of the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | institution's bathrooms a sign that must: |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (1) contain information summarizing the institution's |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | resources for victims of sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | violence, and stalking; |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (2) be written in English and Spanish; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (3) measure at least 11 inches by 14 inches in size; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (4) include: |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | (A) the phone number for the National Domestic |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Violence Hotline; |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | (B) the phone number for the Texas Abuse Hotline; |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | and |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | (C) a QR code that leads to an electronic version |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | summarizing the institution's resources for victims of sexual |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
