| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. (a) The standing committee of the house of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | representatives having jurisdiction over workforce development |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | shall conduct a study on whether to establish a program |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | administered by the Texas Workforce Commission to train individuals |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | currently in the workforce in skills related to the use, operation, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and creation of artificial intelligence systems. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (b) Not later than December 1, 2024, the committee shall |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | report the results of the study conducted under Subsection (a) of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | this section to the governor, the lieutenant governor, the speaker |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | of the house of representatives, and the standing committee of the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | senate with jurisdiction over workforce development. |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (c) This section expires September 1, 2025. |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
