| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 48, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | amended by adding Section 48.305 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Sec. 48.305. ALLOTMENT FOR NON-ENROLLED STUDENTS |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | PARTICIPATING IN UNIVERSITY INTERSCHOLASTIC LEAGUE ACTIVITIES. |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (a) In this section, "non-enrolled student" means a student who |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | receives instruction as described by Section 29.916(a)(1) from a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | nonpublic school. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (b) For each non-enrolled student who participates in a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | University Interscholastic League activity for a school in a school |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | district that allows participation of non-enrolled students under |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Section 33.0832, as added by Chapter 996 (H.B. 547), Acts of the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 87th Legislature, Regular Session, 2021, the district is entitled |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | to an annual allotment of $1,500 per league activity in which the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | non-enrolled student participates. |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
