55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to access to the registry of persons who are not eligible
88 for employment at public schools.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 22.092(d), Education Code, is amended to
1111 read as follows:
1212 (d) The agency shall provide equivalent access to the
1313 registry maintained under this section to:
1414 (1) private schools;
1515 (2) public schools; [and]
1616 (3) nonprofit teacher organizations approved by the
1717 commissioner for the purpose of participating in the tutoring
1818 program established under Section 33.913; and
1919 (4) entities that have entered into a contract to
2020 operate a school district campus under Section 11.174.
2121 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2222 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2323 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2424 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2525 Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
