55 AN ACT
66 relating to projects that may be considered for a grant under the
77 new technology implementation grant program administered by the
88 Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 391.002(b), Health and Safety Code, is
1111 amended to read as follows:
1212 (b) Projects that may be considered for a grant under the
1313 program include:
1414 (1) advanced clean energy projects, as defined by
1515 Section 382.003;
1616 (2) new technology projects that reduce emissions of
1717 regulated pollutants from stationary sources;
1818 (3) new technology projects that reduce emissions from
1919 upstream, [and] midstream, or downstream oil and gas production,
2020 completions, gathering, storage, processing, or [and] transmission
2121 activities through:
2222 (A) the replacement, repower, or retrofit of
2323 stationary compressor engines;
2424 (B) the installation of systems to reduce or
2525 eliminate the loss of gas, flaring of gas, or burning of gas using
2626 other combustion control devices; or
2727 (C) the installation of systems that reduce
2828 flaring emissions and other site emissions; and
2929 (4) electricity storage projects related to renewable
3030 energy, including projects to store electricity produced from wind
3131 and solar generation that provide efficient means of making the
3232 stored energy available during periods of peak energy use.
3333 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
