A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to cooperation with other states to maintain voter
registration lists.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The heading to Section 18.062, Election Code, is
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 18.062. INTERSTATE VOTER REGISTRATION COOPERATION
[CROSSCHECK PROGRAM].
SECTION 2. Section 18.062(b), Election Code, is amended to
read as follows:
(b) A system developed under this section:
(1) may not involve participation in the Electronic
Registration Information Center program; and
(2) must comply with the National Voter Registration
Act (52 U.S.C. Section 20501 et seq.).
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
