| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 466.358(a), Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (a) The director and each lottery operator shall determine |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the compensation to be paid to sales agents for the sale of tickets |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | as provided by this section. The compensation paid to a sales agent |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | may not be an amount less than 10 [five] percent of the retail price |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of the tickets sold plus, at the discretion of the director or |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | lottery operator supervising the lottery game involved, an |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | incentive bonus based on attainment of sales volume, the redemption |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | of winning tickets, or other objectives specified by the director |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | or lottery operator for each type of lottery. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
