| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 478, Government Code, is |

| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 478.00525 to read as follows: |

| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 478.00525. SINGLE YEAR CLASSIFICATION FOR ELIGIBILITY |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | PURPOSES FOR CERTAIN SPORTING EVENTS. For purposes of Sections |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 478.0051(b)(1) and (3), a sporting event listed in Section |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 478.0001(3) is considered to be held one time in each year if the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | event is held only one time in any annual season for that sport. |

| 17 | 17 | | SECTION 2. Subchapter B, Chapter 480, Government Code, is |

| 18 | 18 | | amended by adding Section 480.00515 to read as follows: |

| 19 | 19 | | Sec. 480.00515. SINGLE YEAR CLASSIFICATION FOR ELIGIBILITY |

| 20 | 20 | | PURPOSES FOR CERTAIN SPORTING EVENTS. For purposes of Sections |

| 21 | 21 | | 480.0051(1) and (3), a sporting event is considered to be held one |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | time in each year if the event is held only one time in any annual |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | season for that sport. |

| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
