| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 552.006(b), Transportation Code, is | |
| 10 | 10 | repealed. | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 2. The repeal by this Act of Section 552.006(b), | |
| 12 | 12 | Transportation Code, does not apply to an offense committed before | |
| 13 | 13 | the effective date of the repeal. An offense committed before the | |
| 14 | 14 | effective date of the repeal is governed by the law as it existed on | |
| 15 | 15 | the date the offense was committed, and the former law is continued | |
| 16 | 16 | in effect for that purpose. For purposes of this section, an | |
| 17 | 17 | offense was committed before the effective date of the repeal if any | |
| 18 | 18 | element of the offense occurred before that date. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
