| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 51.002, Election Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |

| 11 | 11 | | (d) Meetings of the county election board are subject to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Chapter 551, Government Code. In addition to posting notice as |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | required by Chapter 551, Government Code, the board shall provide |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | personal written notice of a board meeting to the county elections |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | administrator in the time prescribed by Section 551.043, Government |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Code, for providing public notice. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
