| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 651.057(a), Occupations Code, is amended | |

| 12 | 12 | (a) The governor shall designate one member of the | |
| 13 | 13 | commission as the presiding officer of the commission to serve in | |
| 14 | 14 | that capacity at the pleasure of the governor [for three years. In | |
| 15 | 15 | designating presiding officers, the governor shall alternate | |
| 16 | 16 | between public and nonpublic members]. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
