| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 521.002, Transportation Code, is amended | |
| 10 | 10 | to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | Sec. 521.002. CONVENIENCE TO PUBLIC. (a) The department | |
| 12 | 12 | shall implement its duties under this chapter in the manner that | |
| 13 | 13 | provides the greatest convenience to the public. | |
| 14 | 14 | (b) The department shall provide each person who requests an | |
| 15 | 15 | appointment with a driver's license office an opportunity to | |
| 16 | 16 | schedule an appointment that occurs not later than three business | |
| 17 | 17 | days after the date the appointment is requested. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
