A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to banning the use of pay-per-view in University
Interscholastic athletic competitions.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 33, Education Code, is amended by adding
new Section 33.0835 to read as follow:
Sec. 33.0835. PAY-PER-VIEW DISALLOWED. The University
Interscholastic League is prohibited from allowing its
participants to use pay-per-view for broadcasting athletic
competitions.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
