| 26 | 26 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 27 | 27 | | SECTION 1. Section 39.554(f), Utilities Code, is amended to |

| 28 | 28 | | read as follows: |

| 29 | 29 | | (f) Unless the commission approves an alternative method |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | for compensating a distributed renewable generation owner for |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | electricity generated by distributed renewable generation or a |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | qualifying facility, for [For] a distributed renewable generation |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | owner that chooses interconnection through a single meter under |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Subsection (e): |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | (1) the amount of electricity the owner generates |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | through distributed renewable generation or a qualifying facility |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | for a given billing period offsets the owner's consumption for that |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | billing period; and |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | (2) any electricity the owner generates through |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | distributed renewable generation or a qualifying facility that |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | exceeds the owner's consumption for a given billing period shall be |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | credited to the owner under Subsection (g). |
