88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Subtitle C, Title 5, Business & Commerce Code, is
1010 amended by adding Chapter 121 to read as follows:
1111 CHAPTER 121. IMPLEMENTATION OF CELLULAR ENHANCEMENT TECHNOLOGY BY
1212 CERTAIN HIGH-VOLUME BUSINESSES
1313 Sec. 121.001. DEFINITIONS. In this chapter:
1414 (1) "Cellular enhancement technology" means a product
1515 authorized by a broadband service provider for the purpose of
1616 enhancing wireless service coverage and throughput for an expected
1717 number of users within a specified indoor or outdoor area.
1818 (2) "High-volume business" means a business operating
1919 in this state that regularly accommodates at least 1,000
2020 individuals per hour on the business premises at some time during
2121 the business's normal business hours.
2222 Sec. 121.002. IMPLEMENTATION OF CELLULAR ENHANCEMENT
2323 TECHNOLOGY BY CERTAIN HIGH-VOLUME BUSINESSES. A high-volume
2424 business that provides or supports the use of an Internet
2525 application for use by a customer on the business premises may
2626 deploy cellular enhancement technology to ensure adequate wireless
2727 service is available for customers of that business during the
2828 business's normal business hours.
2929 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
