66 AN ACT
77 relating to the designation of a portion of State Highway 164 in
88 Limestone County as the State Trooper Chad M. Walker Memorial
99 Highway.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 225.190, Transportation Code, as added
1212 by Chapter 927 (H.B. 3512), Acts of the 87th Legislature, Regular
1313 Session, 2021, is redesignated as Section 225.214, Transportation
1414 Code, and amended to read as follows:
1515 Sec. 225.214 [225.190]. TROOPER CHAD M. WALKER MEMORIAL
1616 HIGHWAY. (a) The portion of State Highway 164 in Limestone County
1717 between the western municipal limits of Groesbeck [its intersection
1818 with Farm-to-Market Road 1953] and the bridge over the Navasota
1919 River [its intersection with County Road 789] is designated as the
2020 Trooper Chad M. Walker Memorial Highway. The designation is in
2121 addition to any other designation.
2222 (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall:
2323 (1) design and construct markers indicating the
2424 designation as the Trooper Chad M. Walker Memorial Highway and any
2525 other appropriate information; and
2626 (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at
2727 appropriate intermediate sites along the highway.
2828 SECTION 2. To the extent of any conflict, this Act prevails
2929 over another Act of the 88th Legislature, Regular Session, 2023,
3030 relating to nonsubstantive additions to and corrections in enacted
3131 codes.
3232 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
