66 AN ACT
77 relating to the Medicaid eligibility of certain women following a
88 pregnancy.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 32.024(l-1), Human Resources Code, is
1111 amended to read as follows:
1212 (l-1) The commission shall continue to provide medical
1313 assistance to a woman who is eligible for medical assistance for
1414 pregnant women for a period of not less than 12 [six] months
1515 following the last month of the woman's pregnancy [date the woman
1616 delivers or experiences an involuntary miscarriage].
1717 SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act
1818 a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a
1919 federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision,
2020 the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or
2121 authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the
2222 waiver or authorization is granted.
2323 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
