| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | is amended by adding Section 504.011 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 504.011. SALE OF SPECIALTY LICENSE PLATES ON |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | DEPARTMENT INTERNET WEBSITE. Subject to any limitations provided |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | by a contract between the department and a private vendor under |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Subchapter J, the department shall make all specialty license |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | plates authorized by this chapter available for purchase on the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | department's Internet website, including all specialty license |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | plates that are also sold by the private vendor. |

| 19 | 19 | | SECTION 2. Section 504.851, Transportation Code, is amended |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | by adding Subsection (n) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (n) A private vendor under a contract with the department as |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | authorized by this section shall include on the vendor's Internet |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | website a link to the department's Internet website on which a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | person may directly purchase specialty license plates from the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | department, as provided by Section 504.011. |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
