| 8 | 8 | | appraisal district may require an agent who electronically submits |

| 9 | 9 | | a designation of agent form to provide. |

| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 1.111(k), Tax Code, is amended to read as |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (k) On written request by the chief appraiser, an agent who |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | electronically submits a designation of agent form shall provide |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the chief appraiser information concerning: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (1) the electronic signature of the person who signed |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the form; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (2) the date the person signed the form[; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | [(3) the Internet Protocol address of the computer the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | person used to complete the form]. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | to a written request for information made by a chief appraiser on or |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | after the effective date of this Act. A written request for |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | information made before the effective date of this Act is governed |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | by the law in effect on the date the request was made, and the former |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | law is continued in effect for that purpose. |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
