55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to a requirement that certain appraisal districts maintain
88 an Internet website and post certain information on the website.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 6, Tax Code, is amended by
1111 adding Section 6.17 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 6.17. INTERNET WEBSITE REQUIRED FOR POPULOUS
1313 DISTRICTS. An appraisal district established in a county with a
1414 population of 120,000 or more shall maintain an Internet website.
1515 SECTION 2. Section 25.02, Tax Code, is amended by adding
1616 Subsection (a-1) to read as follows:
1717 (a-1) This subsection applies only to an appraisal district
1818 established in a county with a population of 120,000 or more. The
1919 chief appraiser shall post on the appraisal district's Internet
2020 website the district's appraisal records, other than records that
2121 are confidential under law, and must continuously update the posted
2222 records to include any change in the appraised value of property.
2323 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
