| 7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 130.182, Education Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Sec. 130.182. HOUSTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE SYSTEM DISTRICT |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | SERVICE AREA. The service area of the Houston Community College |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | System District includes the territory within: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (1) the Houston, Alief, Katy, Spring Branch, and North |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Forest independent school districts; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (2) the Stafford Municipal School District; [and] |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (3) the part of the Fort Bend Independent School |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | District that is located in the municipalities of Houston, Missouri |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | City, and Pearland; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (4) the part of the Fort Bend Independent School |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | District that is not located in the service area of the Wharton |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | County Junior College District and that is adjacent to the Houston |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Community College System District. |

| 23 | 23 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
