55 relating to the provision of lifeguards by certain municipalities
66 and counties on public beaches.
77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Section 61.065, Natural Resources Code, is
99 amended by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:
1010 (e) Subsection (c)(1) does not apply to a municipality with
1111 a population of less than 1,000 that is located in a county adjacent
1212 to a county with a population of more than 3.3 million.
1313 SECTION 2. Section 61.066, Natural Resources Code, is
1414 amended by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:
1515 (e) Subsection (b)(1) does not apply to a county adjacent to
1616 a county with a population of more than 3.3 million that contains a
1717 municipality adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico with a population of
1818 less than 1,000.
1919 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2020 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2121 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2222 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2323 Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
