A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the conspicuous marking of certain police vehicles as
police vehicles.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 547.702, Transportation Code, is amended
by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
(g) A police vehicle used to patrol shall be conspicuously
marked as a police vehicle with the insignia of the applicable law
enforcement agency clearly visible at a distance of up to 500 feet
under normal atmospheric conditions.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
