| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 547.702, Transportation Code, is amended | |
| 11 | 11 | by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (g) A police vehicle used to patrol shall be conspicuously | |
| 13 | 13 | marked as a police vehicle with the insignia of the applicable law | |
| 14 | 14 | enforcement agency clearly visible at a distance of up to 500 feet | |
| 15 | 15 | under normal atmospheric conditions. | |
| 16 | 16 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
