9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 46, Penal Code, is amended by adding |

11 | 11 | | Section 46.051 to read as follows: |

12 | 12 | | Sec. 46.051. MANUFACTURE OF FIREARM WITHOUT FEDERAL LICENSE |
---|
13 | 13 | | PROHIBITED. (a) A person who does not hold a federal license to |
---|
14 | 14 | | manufacture firearms under 18 U.S.C. Section 923 commits an offense |
---|
15 | 15 | | if the person intentionally or knowingly manufactures a firearm. |
---|
16 | 16 | | (b) An offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor. |
---|
17 | 17 | | (c) If conduct that constitutes an offense under this |
---|
18 | 18 | | section also constitutes an offense under any other law, the actor |
---|
19 | 19 | | may be prosecuted under this section, the other law, or both. |
---|
20 | 20 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
