|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, By providing a high-quality education to millions of |

| 11 | 11 | | students across the state, Texas teachers are helping to ensure |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | that the future of our communities rests in capable hands; |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | educators devote countless hours to fostering supportive learning |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | environments, and they demonstrate exceptional professionalism, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | creativity, adaptability, and resilience in all their endeavors; |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Each year, city councils, school boards, |

| 18 | 18 | | businesses, and local residents celebrate Texas Teachers' Day on |

| 19 | 19 | | October 5; held in conjunction with World Teachers' Day, the Texas |

| 20 | 20 | | observance encompasses special events and fundraising campaigns to |

| 21 | 21 | | benefit educators; participants also display light blue ribbons and |

| 22 | 22 | | illuminate buildings in the same color to symbolically acknowledge |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the role that teachers play as guiding lights for their students; |

| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Those who accept the demanding yet rewarding work of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | educating our children deserve the deepest gratitude of every |

| 27 | 27 | | Texan, and the official designation of Texas Teachers' Day helps |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | raise awareness of their essential contributions; now, therefore, |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | hereby designate October 5 as Texas Teachers' Day; and, be it |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That, in accordance with the provisions of Section |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 391.004(d), Government Code, this designation remain in effect |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | until the 10th anniversary of the date this resolution is finally |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | passed by the legislature. |
