55 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
66 WHEREAS, Teachers play a vital role in the academic success
77 of our young people, and the designation of October 5 as Texas
88 Teachers' Day serves as a fitting means to honor those who dedicate
99 themselves to this important calling; and
1010 WHEREAS, By providing a high-quality education to millions of
1111 students across the state, Texas teachers are helping to ensure
1212 that the future of our communities rests in capable hands;
1313 educators devote countless hours to fostering supportive learning
1414 environments, and they demonstrate exceptional professionalism,
1515 creativity, adaptability, and resilience in all their endeavors;
1616 and
1717 WHEREAS, Each year, city councils, school boards,
1818 businesses, and local residents celebrate Texas Teachers' Day on
1919 October 5; held in conjunction with World Teachers' Day, the Texas
2020 observance encompasses special events and fundraising campaigns to
2121 benefit educators; participants also display light blue ribbons and
2222 illuminate buildings in the same color to symbolically acknowledge
2323 the role that teachers play as guiding lights for their students;
2424 and
2525 WHEREAS, Those who accept the demanding yet rewarding work of
2626 educating our children deserve the deepest gratitude of every
2727 Texan, and the official designation of Texas Teachers' Day helps
2828 raise awareness of their essential contributions; now, therefore,
2929 be it
3030 RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas
3131 hereby designate October 5 as Texas Teachers' Day; and, be it
3232 further
3333 RESOLVED, That, in accordance with the provisions of Section
3434 391.004(d), Government Code, this designation remain in effect
3535 until the 10th anniversary of the date this resolution is finally
3636 passed by the legislature.
