10 | 11 | | individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the |

11 | 12 | | development of the petroleum industry or have served as worthy |
---|
12 | 13 | | examples to those in the petroleum industry; and |

13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Granville and Florence Hall, Marie |
---|
14 | 15 | | Hall was born in Big Spring; she graduated from The Hockaday School |
---|
15 | 16 | | and Southern Methodist University and served as director of the |
---|
16 | 17 | | State National Bank of Big Spring; deeply devoted to West Texas, she |
---|
17 | 18 | | distinguished herself through her extensive charitable efforts; in |
---|
18 | 19 | | 2011, she founded the FMH Foundation to support organizations and |
---|
19 | 20 | | programs focused on health sciences, rural health care, performing |
---|
20 | 21 | | and visual arts, and community and cultural endeavors, and over the |
---|
21 | 22 | | years, the foundation has provided nearly 600 grants to more than |
---|
22 | 23 | | 130 agencies; Ms. Hall was president of the foundation until her |
---|
23 | 24 | | passing in 2017; and |
---|
24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Among her accolades, Ms. Hall was named the 1987 |
---|
25 | 26 | | Woman of the Year by the Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce and an |
---|
26 | 27 | | Outstanding Philanthropist by the Permian Basin Chapter of the |
---|
27 | 28 | | Association of Fundraising Professionals; moreover, she received |

28 | 29 | | an honorary degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences |
---|
29 | 30 | | Center as well as the Rosalind Redfern Library Benefactor Award and |
---|
30 | 31 | | the Turner Award from the Museum of the Southwest; and |

31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Through her enduring commitment to Big Spring and |

32 | 33 | | communities across West Texas, Marie Hall built a legacy that will |

33 | 34 | | continue to resonate in the years to come, and she is indeed a |

34 | 35 | | worthy addition to the Petroleum Hall of Fame; now, therefore, be it |
