11 | 12 | | operating a gas distribution system in upstate New York; following |
---|
12 | 13 | | the turn of the century, he set out for Oklahoma with his family; |

14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The company drilled wells in Kansas and Oklahoma |

15 | 16 | | before establishing its first Texas wells in Denton County in 1914; |

16 | 17 | | that year, it also contracted with Mid-West Oil to drill in the |

17 | 18 | | Artesia Field in New Mexico; four years later, it began operations |

19 | 20 | | A. M. Donnelly then incorporated the firm as the Eastland Oil |

21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Eastland moved its headquarters to Fort Worth in |

22 | 23 | | 1924; after World War II, George Donnelly Jr., a geologist, opened |

24 | 25 | | initiated the company's efforts in the development of numerous |

25 | 26 | | fields across the region; in 1977, Eastland Oil relocated to |

27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Today, Eastland Oil operates more than 60 wells in |

28 | 29 | | West Texas and eastern New Mexico; through the years, the company's |

29 | 30 | | leadership has demonstrated its commitment to the industry through |

30 | 31 | | important roles in such institutions as the Bureau of Economic |

31 | 32 | | Geology, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists |

32 | 33 | | Foundation, and the Petroleum Museum; current president Robert R. |

33 | 34 | | "Robin" Donnelly represents the fourth generation to guide the |

34 | 35 | | firm, and his son, Garrett Donnelly, has served as vice president |
