| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Pat Martin was born to Fred and Bernice Rutledge on |

| 9 | 10 | | October 29, 1947, in Rotan and grew up with the companionship of |

| 10 | 11 | | three siblings, Karen, James, and Lynne; she moved with her family |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | to Brock, where they lived for a few years before settling in |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Weatherford; a graduate of Weatherford College, she embarked on a |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | career in land title insurance in 1974 and continued working in the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | industry for many years while raising her son, Brandon, as a single |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | mother; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In 2011, she married Jimmy Martin, and together they |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | created a blended family that included her stepchildren, Tracie, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Tory, and Annabeth; a doting grandmother, Mrs. Martin treasured |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | spending time with her 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; |

| 20 | 21 | | and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Active in her community, Mrs. Martin held |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | leadership roles with the Parker County Committee on Aging, the |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Weatherford Chamber of Commerce, and the Weatherford Independent |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | School District Education Foundation, and she served on the Park |

| 25 | 26 | | View Terrace Housing Facility Board for a number of years; |

| 26 | 27 | | moreover, she was a founding member of the Parker County Health |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Foundation and was involved with the Weatherford Lions Club and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | Meals on Wheels; sustained by a deep and abiding faith, she was a |

| 29 | 30 | | valued congregant of Willow Park Baptist Church; and |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Known for her strength of character, her |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | unconditional love, and her contagious laugh, Pat Martin brightened |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | the world for all who knew her, and they will forever hold her close |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas |

| 35 | 36 | | hereby pay tribute to the life of Patricia Martin and extend sincere |
