55 A JOINT RESOLUTION
66 proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature

99 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 1(g), Article VIII, Texas Constitution,
1111 is amended to read as follows:
1212 (g) The Legislature by general law may exempt from ad
1313 valorem taxation tangible personal property that is held or used
1414 for the production of income and that has a taxable value of less
1515 than an amount specified [the minimum amount sufficient to recover
1616 the costs of the administration of the taxes on the property, as
1717 determined] by the Legislature in [or under] the general law
1818 granting the exemption.
1919 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
2020 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 7, 2023.
2121 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
2222 proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the
2323 legislature to exempt from ad valorem taxation income-producing
2424 tangible personal property having a value of less than a certain
2525 amount."
