55 A JOINT RESOLUTION
66 proposing a constitutional amendment to authorize the legislature

1010 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 1-l(a), Article VIII, Texas
1212 Constitution, is amended to read as follows:
1313 (a) The legislature by general law may exempt from ad
1414 valorem taxation all or part of real and personal property used,
1515 constructed, acquired, or installed wholly or partly to prevent,
1616 monitor, control, or reduce [meet or exceed rules or regulations
1717 adopted by any environmental protection agency of the United
1818 States, this state, or a political subdivision of this state for the
1919 prevention, monitoring, control, or reduction of] air, water, or
2020 land pollution.
2121 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
2222 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 7, 2023.
2323 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
2424 proposition: "The constitutional amendment to authorize the
2525 legislature to exempt from ad valorem taxation property used to
2626 control pollution, regardless of whether the property is used to
2727 meet or exceed rules or regulations adopted for that purpose."
