57 A JOINT RESOLUTION
68 proposing a constitutional amendment to authorize the
79 commissioners court of a county to exempt from ad valorem taxation
810 by each political subdivision that taxes the property the portion
911 of the assessed value of a person's property that is attributable to
1012 the installation in or on the property of a rainwater harvesting or
1113 graywater system.
1214 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1315 SECTION 1. Article VIII, Texas Constitution, is amended by
1416 adding Section 1-u to read as follows:
1517 Sec. 1-u. The legislature by general law may authorize the
1618 commissioners court of a county to exempt from ad valorem taxation
1719 by each political subdivision that taxes the property the portion
1820 of the assessed value of a person's property that is attributable to
1921 the installation in or on the property of a rainwater harvesting or
2022 graywater system and may provide additional eligibility
2123 requirements for the exemption.
2224 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
2325 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 7, 2023.
2426 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
2527 proposition: "The constitutional amendment to authorize the
2628 commissioners court of a county to exempt from ad valorem taxation
2729 by each political subdivision that taxes the property the portion
2830 of the assessed value of a person's property that is attributable to
2931 the installation in or on the property of a rainwater harvesting or
3032 graywater system."
