| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 6 | | of Theresa Linda Becka of College Station, who passed away on |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | March 17, 2023, at the age of 70; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of John and Lorene Kovar, Theresa Becka |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | was born in La Grange on March 2, 1953; she grew up with the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | companionship of four siblings, Lorene, J. D., Charlie, and Erwin; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Becka enjoyed a rewarding career with the Corps |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | of Cadets recruiting office at Texas A&M University that spanned |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | more than three and a half decades; a woman of faith, she was a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | founding member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church; during her |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | leisure time, she enjoyed sewing and needlework, mah-jongg, and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | jigsaw puzzles, and she also liked spending time outdoors, whether |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | at the beach, on a camping trip, or taking a walk; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Becka enjoyed the love |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and support of her husband, Tommy, with whom she shared 38 years of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | marriage before his passing in 2011; she was the devoted mother of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | three children, Mark, Kristie, and Sara, and with the passing |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | years, she had the privilege of seeing her family grow to include |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | three grandchildren, Branden, Camryn, and Andi; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Although Theresa Becka will be deeply missed, those |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | who held her dear will forever remember the warmth and kindness she |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | brought into their lives; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Theresa Linda Becka |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | and extend heartfelt condolences to the members of her family: to |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | her children, Mark Becka and his wife, Nicole, Kristie Mata and her |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | husband, Adam, and Sara Becka; to her grandchildren, Branden Becka, |
