| 7 | 7 | | Students Engaged in Advancing Texas Day at the State Capitol; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, An affiliate of the National Coalition Against |

| 9 | 9 | | Censorship, the SAS chapter in Euless includes students from |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Trinity High School and Harmony Science Academy; the group strives |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | to empower youth leaders to advocate for policies that promote |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | freedom of expression and speech; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The SAS Euless chapter's many efforts include |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | campaigning on social media, organizing educational field trips, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and hosting discussions on topics related to free expression; the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | group is ably led by chapter president Da'Taeveyon Daniels, a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | student at Trinity High School; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The members of Student Advocates for Speech have set |

| 19 | 19 | | an inspiring example of civic engagement and activism, and these |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | outstanding young Texans are truly deserving of special |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby recognize the Student Advocates for Speech club |

| 24 | 24 | | in Euless on the occasion of Students Engaged in Advancing Texas Day |
