H.R. No. 1009
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of Texans for Public Education are gathering
at the State Capitol on April 12, 2023, providing a fitting
opportunity to recognize the group for its civic contributions; and
WHEREAS, Established in 2013, T4PE is a nonpartisan
organization that strives to improve public education across the
state by supporting legislators and policies that align with its
goals; today, the group is one of the largest educational
grassroots organizations in Texas, encompassing nearly 38,000
members; and
WHEREAS, T4PE conducts research on elected state officials
and candidates, and it posts ratings to serve as a guide for the
group's members; in addition, the organization provides a number of
resources to alert members about upcoming elections and to inform
them about current events; it also hosts rallies, town halls, and
other functions to educate the public and advocate for issues
related to public education; and
WHEREAS, The members of T4PE have set an inspiring example of
political engagement, and they are indeed deserving of special
recognition for their efforts to support public education in Texas;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Texans for Public Education for its work
and extend to all those affiliated with the group sincere best
wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for T4PE as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
of Representatives.
